Terms of Service
Using Mealwood
Effective and last updated: October 1, 2026
Agreement and project
These Terms govern your use of Mealwood, a personal portfolio project maintained by its creator. By creating an account or using Mealwood, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Age eligibility
Mealwood is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. Do not create an account if you are under 13. Mealwood does not collect date of birth or use identity documents to verify age.
What Mealwood provides
Mealwood helps you record pantry items, receive recipe suggestions, save generated recipes, plan meals, build grocery suggestions, and ask a food-focused AI assistant. Features may change as the service develops.
Your account
- Provide accurate account information and keep your credentials confidential.
- Use your own account and notify us if you believe it has been compromised.
- You are responsible for activity performed through your account.
- You may delete your account from Profile. Deletion is permanent and removes associated Mealwood data from active systems.
Acceptable use
Do not use Mealwood to:
- break applicable law or violate another person’s rights;
- probe, bypass, disrupt, or overload security, authentication, request limits, or service infrastructure;
- upload or submit malicious instructions, automate abusive traffic, or misuse AI features;
- impersonate another person or interfere with another user’s account or data;
- copy, resell, or exploit the service in a way these Terms do not permit.
AI-generated content
Mealwood uses AI to generate some recipes and assistant replies. AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, inconsistent, or unsuitable for your situation. It may suggest incorrect quantities, preparation steps, substitutions, storage advice, or ingredients. Review AI output before relying on it.
Mealwood applies deterministic restrictions in supported recommendation flows, but no automated system can guarantee that a meal is allergen-free, appropriate for a medical condition, compliant with religious requirements, or protected from cross-contact.
Food, allergy, and health responsibility
- Recipes, use-by reminders, and meal suggestions are informational and are not medical, nutrition, dietary, or other professional advice.
- Always check ingredient lists, package labels, warnings, product composition, and trusted food-safety guidance yourself.
- If you have an allergy, intolerance, medical condition, pregnancy-related concern, or therapeutic diet, consult an appropriate qualified professional.
- You are responsible for ingredient selection, food storage, hygiene, cooking temperatures, preparation, and deciding whether food is safe to consume.
- Best-before information entered by you is a planning aid and is not a safety determination.
Your content and feedback
You keep ownership of information you submit. You give Mealwood permission to host, process, reproduce, and transform that information only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service. Do not submit content you do not have the right to use. If you voluntarily provide product feedback, we may use it without an obligation to compensate you.
Mealwood intellectual property
Mealwood’s software, branding, layout, and original content are owned by its creator or licensors. These Terms give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, revocable right to use the service for its intended purpose. They do not transfer ownership of Mealwood or third-party technology.
Third-party services
Mealwood depends on services such as Supabase, Vercel, NVIDIA, and Resend. Their systems and terms may affect availability and processing. Mealwood is not responsible for a third party’s independent services or policies, although we select providers to support the service.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep Mealwood useful and available, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may maintain, change, suspend, or discontinue features. Where practical, we will provide reasonable notice of material changes that affect users.
Suspension and termination
We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users or the service, investigate abuse, comply with law, or address a serious violation of these Terms. We will use proportionate measures where circumstances allow. You may stop using Mealwood or delete your account at any time.
Disclaimers and responsibility
Mealwood is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim implied warranties that cannot reasonably be supported, including that every suggestion will be accurate, complete, safe, or fit for a particular purpose. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
To the extent permitted by law, Mealwood’s creator is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses that were not reasonably foreseeable from use of the service. This does not limit responsibility for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury caused by negligence, or any other responsibility that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Mealwood changes. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when a material change reasonably requires it. Continued use after revised Terms take effect means you accept them, where permitted by law.
